Therapeutic Services

At New Direction we believe Therapeutic interventions are essential to enable all students to learn how to self regulate in order to enable them to feel safe and calm in order to access their education. As Part of our therapeutic Curriculum we offer a range of therapies to all students including:

• Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
• Equine Intervention
• Reiki Therapy
• Planned and Unplanned Interventions

Nikki offers Reiki therapy and is often on hand to be able to talk to students or take them to a quiet room when they need a break. Nikki is also our Head of communication and offers regular contact home to help support the students in school but also offer support to the parents too. This is vital to ensure students settle and have the consistency needed to help them feel calm enough to access the education being offered.
